Happy "Birthday"

Today is the day I declare as Misty's Birthday!

She was adopted last August and she was already 1 year+, so she's now unofficially 2 years old! Yippeee. *throws confetti around and binkies with her* =S

ok, this is a little crazy but she will be getting extra carrots tonite for dinner. Maybe half a tablespoon more pellets? I'm sure she will act like a gan cheong spider upon hearing that.

Happy Birthday =)

Making a Bunny Toilet

Here's how I made Misty's customised toilet.

Stuff needed:
- Trofast from Ikea/any deep plastic tray
- wire gauze (BBQ type) - Detailed instructions here
- plastic/rubber mat with holes big enough for poo to drop through but small enough for paws

Step 1:
Cut wire gauze slightly smaller than the insides of tray, cut a square a the corners and fold sides in. Cut plastic mat to the size of the insides of the tray, big enough to fit and yet cover the gauze.

Step 2:
Line layers of newspaper into the base of the tray, and put the gauze on the newspaper. Press down and make sure the newspaper tough the sides and corners.

Step 3:
Pour cat litter into the tray, making sure they fall below the gauze. Scoop some of bunny's old poo and pee pellets back into the tray.

Step 4:
Cover the gauze with the plastic mat. The toilet is now ready for use! Poot!

A picture of Misty looking damn sleepy on the toilet. Haa..

Upgrading in Progress

About 2 weeks ago I decided to do something about her little cage. The litterpan was taking up about half of her cage, and she has been treating the whole cage as her toilet, even peeing on the tiles. Hmm. So I bought 4 playpen panels and started to get her used to the new home by joining 3 panels to her current cage.

She was rather sceptical at 1st about the new area, not wanting to hop away from the gate with the rubber mat. Then after awhile, she got used to it and came out often to look around. After 1 week, I removed her cage and she was left with the playpen, along with her old accessories.

Misty: Can they see me?

She's still rather naughty and pee-ed at some of the corners. I've since put another "toilet" for her at the top left corner and shifted her hiding shelter to the left. With the playpen, it's much better ventilated, although this means that her fur will fly around more easily. But this is a good layout as she's able to live a cleaner environment and it's also easier when it comes to mopping/vacuuming up her area.
