Just like any other warm day

This afternoon I saw a different pose of hers. Do I even call that a pose or was she looking out for something? That look seems like she's sceptical or was she actually stretching? Hmm.. Anyway, just like to point out from this photo that she has this big breasted look on her chest. This is typical of female rabbits. =)

I took a pic of her in her cage to show the setup. Here's the latest update. I'm still trying to toilet train her but she still poo & pee in the middle of the cage. =\

Well the warm weather was too much to bear so I caught her resting the head on the ground which was a 1st. Kindda cute to see that side of her.

Knowing her

It's been more than a week since I adopted her and now I'm getting a feel of what her habits are.

She likes a clean litter pan. I noticed less poo & pee at the base of the cage recently. Will check again when I clear her cage this week. I think the cold weather these few days is rather soothing, both for humans as well as rabbits. hee. She enjoys lying on the mat and at times on her litter pan. She likes to bite on the willow basket of hay and pull it out of the corner that I placed. She also managed to push the feeding bowl. I guess it's not heavy enough... =\ When I tried to play with her using the toilet roll, she does respond by flicking it or pushing it back to me. =D

Misty's still rather wary of who's around and the stroking that I try to give every night. I hand fed her the veges last nite, she seems hungry and was munching actively. I also saw that she was rather thirsty. During feeding, I saw her little bunny teeth when I held the vege high up so that I can peep. Cute teeth. heh. Both level and not very long. I will try to update with pics this week if possible. ;)

The Great "Outdoors"

I did mention that I let her out to explore the hall. Having the chance to try the restrictive walkway didn't really interest her. So she hopped around, peering at every corner, loved the area below the bench, and the main door. I think the cold floor was to her liking and she laid there for awhile. I took a few quick shots before she decided to move again. I was afraid that she might get too comfy and start pee-ing on my tiles. True enough, she did mark one of the corners.
Misty: I love the cold floor...

More fur...

I'm getting feedback that the matted fur is gross. haaa well who cares. It's what you have deal with when you have a pet. Here's another pic with more fur being removed.
Yups, gross but true.

Hi guys

Thanks for dropping by to take a look at Misty. She's fine, eating hay & loves pellets.

Regarding her cage, I've placed mats to reduce the stress on her little feet about 3 days after she came. You can actually see it in the top cage pic (light grey), not very visible though.

When I carry her out she tends to struggle quite abit. Yup and she left a few poos on my lap -_-". I had to calm her down by not moving and stroking her afterwards. She's always on the lookout to run away. Tends to tense up upon touching but will soon relax if I continue to pat her. I think it still requires quite a lot of time to let her get used to us. Be patient, I will.

Crazy ideas

Managed to take a frontal view of her face and came up with some crazy ideas.

Misty's Home

I think I should explain what matted fur is. It's fur that clot together due to bun stepping on pee and pee dries up. Something similar to our entangled hair.

Now for some pictures of her home.

Grooming

Alritey, I managed to cut off a piece of the matted fur on her. Still many more to go. Will do so when she gets more comfortable with me.

Let's hope it won't freak you out =D

Cleaning up

Cleaned up Misty's cage last nite.

Procedure:
- mix 1 part white vinegar with 1 part water, sprayed on the corners of the tray where she pee-ed on. Scrub with towel. Wash off with tap water.
- cleared litter tray but did not do the vinegar treatment.

Let her out for a while while i was doing tat. She was very curious and was sniffing around the walls & floor. Also dropped a few poos on the floor. Marking territory i guess. Was also eager to get back into the cage and hide in the box.

This morning, I checked the litter tray and saw that there were only about 2 poos on the mat. Seems like a promising improvement ;)

Will continue to monitor her toilet habits. Hope that toilet training will be successful.
